With the purpose of practicing“going global ”strategy, promoting cooperation and communication between China and other developing countries, boosting influence of China, the National Commerical Department held “Latin-American Projects Contract Advanced Research and Exchange Class” and “Africa Projects Contract Advanced Research and Exchange Class”opening ceremony in GDFC on Aug. 12, 2007which attracted 41officers from different Latin-American and African countries.
GDFC organized and sent trainees to Pazhou Convention and Exhibition Center、Guangzhou university town for sightseeing and learning .In learning, the trainees were serious in asking, noting and making videotape. During the breaks , they also asked for advice and learning materials from others. GDFC arranged kinds of extracurricular activities for the trainees as well, which helped trainees relax and enjoy the glamour of Guangzhou.
The infrastructural facilities in most African countries were out-dated. Most projects that Chinese enterprises engaged in can meet the urgent needs of local people. Guangzhou distributed 160 foreign aided projects. For example, in 2004, GDFC took charge of a dam project near Santiago Silo River of the Republic of Cape Verde helped local people end their no drinken water history. These “people’s livelihood projects” earned Guangdong splendid fame in Africa.
