On November 20th, 2013, a symposium for returnees from overseas projects was held in the Main Meeting Room at 3:00 p.m. Those who attended include: Zhou You, the Chairman; Qu Chuhua, the Chief Engineer; Chen Zhimin, Human Resource Administrator; Li Xuewu and Long Jianzhong, both Deputy Commanders of Cambodian Water Conservancy Project; returnees, managers, and representatives from each department in the company. Mr. Chen, Human Resource Administrator, presided over the meeting.
During the meeting, the executives introduced and presented recent focus while the returnees shared and exchanged overseas project operation, management and their project features, individual development and local custom, etc. Besides, communications on cooperation and connection were made between overseas projects and relevant departments at home.

Zhou You, the Chairman, on behalf of the company, extended greetings and wishes to the returnees, and gave full recognition for their achievements. Although they were far away from the country, hometown and relatives, he said, the overseas staff won reputation for our country, made contributions to the economic and social development of the project country, and achieved good results for the company. He appreciated their regretless and unconditional dedication. Qu Chuhua, Chief Engineer, believe that the project staff exemplified endeavoring and persistent spirit, and made achievements on the individual position. He hoped that they can summarize method, patent and technology in their spare time. He also introduced progress of ongoing construction at home and abroad. Chen Zhimin, Human Resource Administrator, demonstrated the company’s philosophy from the perspective of corporate culture. At the same time, he added that the leaders concerned a lot about work and life of overseas staff. This symposium was also to boost understanding, facilitate communication, and help create favorable condition and environment for the overseas staff, hoping that they would continue their efforts and make greater achievements in return.
Each returnee representative took a positive role in speaking. At first, they showed appreciation to these concerns and introduced the experience and gains abroad. Wang Caiwen, representative of Cambodian Senate Project, shared the photographs of ancient and modern architectures in Cambodia as well as of construction sites. In his view, two important codes should be kept in mind, i.e. good public liaison with local communities and Safety First, whether in work or life. Liu Hui, Kampot Project Manager, and Zhou Guanghui, Battambang (Phase 1) Porject Manager, respectively made brief introductions to Cambodian national geology and resource, custom, as wells as leisure life of overseas staff, managing mode, main measures and process of safety management, progress control, supply coordination, quality management, cost control in Cambodian projects. Li Xuewu, Deputy Commander of Cambodian Water Conservancy Headquarter, pointed out that the success of each project came from the diligence of our staff, cooperation of multiple departments and support from each circle of society. Only by careful organization and sincere cooperation could our project management be improved. Cheng Jun, representative of Burundi Project Department, gave an account of the importance of planned preliminary project organization, as well as joy and pain of working abroad, especially the regrets of failure to accompany his wife in delivery. He also showed appreciation to his colleagues. Liu Qiaohui, representative of Papua New Guinea Project, presented the local custom, and, with photographs, showed the positive and optimistic spirits of project staff working in tough condition. Meanwhile, they also gave suggestions for the development of our company, and hoped that more activities would be held for returnees to improve understanding, strengthen communication and promote cooperation. All of them promised that the overseas staff would live up to the expectation, work hard and make their own contributions to the development of our company.
