From Oct 7th, 2020, due to the influence of tropical depression and tropical storm, some areas in Cambodia, especially in Battambang Province and Pursat Province, are flooded because of continuous rainfall. Guangdong Foreign Construction Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “GDFC”) actively assists the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the provincial government of Pursat, and gives full play to the company’s resources and technology advantages. On the night of Oct 9th, the company overnight dispatched professionals to open 9 sluices on Damank Ampil main canal for flood discharge which alleviated the waterlogging of Pursat city. In the meanwhile, in order to further cooperate with the Department of Water Resources and Meteorology of Phnom Penh Municipality and Kandal Province in flood-fighting and emergency rescues, GDFC dispatched personnel and delivered equipment to embankments of Stung Prek Thnot in Phnom Penh and Kandal Province for flood control. The professionals patrolled the embankments day and night, closely observed the changes of the water level every day and assisted in repairing upstream dyke of Makara 7 sluice on National Road No.3.
