Economic & Commercial Counsellor from Chinese Embassy in PNG Visited Our Construction Site of New Enga Provincial Hospital

 On the 17th and 18th of August, 2018, Mr Liu Lilin, the Economic & Commercial Counsellor from Chinese Embassy in PNG, conducted a site visit to the Construction of New Enga Provincial Hospital Project, one of our ongoing projects in Papua New Guinea.

The Construction of New Enga Provincial Hospital, as the biggest building project by the Chinese Contractor in PNG, shall, under the assurance of quality and safety, aim at becoming exemplary works, which is of great significance to the country, the government as well as the Contractor,” the Councillor mentioned during this site visit.

 

Meanwhile, when it comes to the existing issues and difficulties, the Councillor demanded that our project management office put more efforts in learning English and Australian Building Standards. The concise and meaningful speech by the Councillor brought great benefits to our project team members and boosted our confidence in successful delivery of a quality hospital project.

The Councillor also experienced the daily life of our site staff. “The youth shall make good balances among health, learning, living and work, build up tenacity and endurance, and finally become the backbone of new generation upon the successful completion”, Mr Liu said.

 

 

PROJECT INFORMATION

 

The Construction of New Enga Provincial Project (NEPH) is located at Wabag Town, the provincial capital of Enga Province, Papua New Guinea. With land occupancy of approx. 34 ha., this project consists of FOUR (4x) parts: HOSPITAL, STAFF HOUSING, EXTERNAL WORKS and SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT, of which there will be 14x hospital buildings (150 beds, 20,500 sq.m. in total), and 25x staff houses (10,500 sq.m in total). The Contract Sum is approx. USD 159.6MILLION, 85% funded by the Preferential Buyer’s Credit Facility from the Exim Bank of China and 15% from the counterpart funds in the annual budget by the PNG national government. This project is estimated to be completed in THREE (3) years.
