On Jan 20, 2021, China's Ambassador to PNG Xue Bing and his team visited the New Enga Provincial Hospital Project and the project of Polytechnic Institute of Enga, which are under construction by GDFC in Enga Province, and extended their regards to all our construction staff. Lu Xiaoshe, Vice General Manager of GDFC, Zhang Kunlin and Huang Rongsheng, Vice General Managers of GDFC (PNG) LTD, accompanied in the visit.  

When Ambassador Xue Bing and his team arrived, Sir Peter Ipatas KBE, GCL, MP, Governor of Enga Province, together with other provincial officials, greeted them at the airport and held a talk. Welcoming the Ambassador, his wife and the accompanying officials, the Governor extended his gratitude to Chinese Government for offering Preferential Buyer's Credit to build the New Enga Provincial Hospital and spoke highly of the construction quality and progress. The project, being the first PNG-initiated newly-built provincial hospital since its independence and the first modernized provincial hospital of the country, the completion of which will substantially improve the medical condition of Enga and highland people, as well as setting a successful benchmark for the construction of other provincial hospital in PNG.    

At the new Enga Hospital project site, the Vice General Manager Lu Xiaoshe and Project Executive Manager Zhang Kunlin introduced in detail the hospital functional orientation and department layout, project safety production, quality, progress and environmental control,  and briefed the Ambassador the massive work done by the project team to implement anti-COVID 19 measures and to secure the daily life of staff. Fully acknowledging the performance made by the project team under such complex and arduous condition, Ambassador Xue made satisfactory remarks on the project progress and quality. He encouraged the team to overcome the huge impact brought by the epidemic and make another great monument for the China-PNG friendship.  

Then the team went to the project site of Polytechnic Institute of Enga.  Acquainted with information like the general planning, layout and subsequent construction arrangement, the Ambassador congratulated GDFC for getting one more large project in Enga Province and commended the philosophy of GDFC: root in PNG, serve PNG. He said the Embassy and the Economic Counselor's Office will greatly support the growing and expansion of Chinese companies in PNG, including GDFC. 

Lastly, on behalf of the Embassy, the team visited and extended regards to all the construction staff in Enga Province, appreciating them for their endeavor and contribution to the project, to the development of PNG economy and society, and to the pragmatic cooperation of China and PNG. In the past year, they had overcome all kinds of adverse impacts brought by the COVID-19 epidemic and devoted to their work for the sake of the general good, bringing radical changes to the project. The Ambassador encouraged them to make persistent efforts for the smooth and timely completion of the whole project.
