On Feb 16th, 2021, Mr. Liu Linlin, Counsellor of Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of China in PNG, Mr.Ji Yuxi, Secretary of Counsellor’s office and their team visited the New Enga Provincial Hospital Project, the Project of Polytechnic Institute of Enga and Wabag Hydropower station in Enga Province, and extended their regards to all our construction staff. Mr.Yang Zhikai, Deputy Secretary General of China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in PNG and Mr. Liu Xiao, the Director of Chamber, Mr. Lu Xiaoshe, Vice General Manager of GDFC, Mr.Zhang Kunlin and Huang Rongsheng, Vice General Managers of GDFC (PNG) LTD, accompanied during the visit.
At the New Enga Provincial Hospital Project site, Counsellor Liu, on behalf of the Embassy, firstly extended Spring Festival greetings and his best wishes to all our staff, and expressed that all the staff had made great efforts to overcome the negative impacts of the epidemic since the outbreak of COVID-19, and had achieved remarkable achievements in prevention and control of the epidemic and the resumption of work and production. All the employees , with their tenacity and persistence during their stay in PNG ,had worked hard to make achievements in business while safeguarding achievements of our country in fighting the epidemic, and contributed to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, which fully embodied the lofty realm "Success couldn’t be controlled by me ,but I am the part of it".
Counsellor Liu stressed that Year 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the first year of 14th Five-Year Plan. As the sharper and key members of China-PNG New Economic and Trade relations, all the employees were the important overseas forces in implementing "One Belt and One Road" initiative and the concept of "A Community with a Shared Future for Mankind", and realizing China’s double-cycle economic development strategy. He believed that with the support of motherland, as well as support from the Embassy, the service and coordination of the Chamber, and the strong leadership of GDFC, we would have the courage, confidence and strength to overcome the difficulties together.
The economy in PNG had bottomed out but the future was worth looking forward to .Counsellor Liu hoped that we could improve ourselves, keep the overall situation in mind and adjust our attitude. He also hoped that we could keep the balance in our hearts and stick to our good hope in order to devote ourselves to work and life with full enthusiasm and high morale, which could turn the persevering experience in PNG into the memory we’d like to recall in the future.
In the conference room of New Enga Provincial Hospital Project, Counsellor Liu and his team met Dr. Samson Amean, the Provincial Administrator. Firstly, Dr.Amean reviewed his acquaintance with GDFC and the progress of New Enga Provincial Hospital Project; expressed his thanks to the efforts which we made for Enga province and their people. He also stated that GDFC’s high quality and efficient construction concept was deeply recognized and praised by Enga people and the Enga Provincial Government fully trusted the construction level and strength of GDFC. Finally, Dr.Amean, on behalf of Provincial Government, made a statement that they would do their best to support the smooth implementation and early completion and handover of the project, and expressed their sincere thanks to the Chinese government and GDFC.
At the meeting, Counsellor Liu highly praised the efforts made by GDFC in completing the project, as well as in consolidating and strengthening the deep friendship between China and Enga Government and their people. The New Enga Provincial Hospital Project coincided with the strategic policy of “One Belt and One Road” proposed by President Xi, which perfectly interpreted the concept of "facilities connectivity" and "people to people exchanges”, which would benefit both countries and their people.Counsellor Liu proposed that, given the rich experiences of Chinese medical team aided in PNG, the Chinese medical team could provide different kinds of assistance to the hospital after its opening. He also proposed that the Chinese medical teams should be invited to attend the opening ceremony of the hospital.
After the meeting, Counsellor Liu and his team visited the construction site of New Enga Provincial Hospital Project. Mr. Lu Xiaoshe, Vice General Manager of the company, and Mr. Zhang Kunlin, Project Executive Manager, introduced the function and department layout of hospital in detail. They also introduced project safety production, quality control, epidemic prevention and control, living materials support, holiday arrangement, etc. Counsellor Liu fully affirmed the achievements which made by the technical team of project under this difficult and complex environment, and expressed his satisfaction in project progress and its quality. He encouraged all the employees to overcome the huge impact and influence on the project under this epidemic which could add the monument for the friendship between China and PNG.
Finally, Counsellor Liu and his team visited the project of Polytechnic Institute of Enga which was under construction and the Wabag Hydropower Project which was planned to build. He said that he would strongly support the long-term and stable development of the Chinese Enterprises including our company in PNG.
