Project Name: Multipurpose Dam Development Project in Battambang Province in the Kingdom of Cambodia (Official Commencement: March 18th 2014, Planned Construction Period 52 Months).
Project Location: The project is located in mid and upper reaches of Sangker River in Battambang Province, northwest part of Cambodia, with its dam site at 4km below confluence between Sanker River and Kranhaung River, about 45km away from Battambang City and about 332km from Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.
Project Task: The project functions mainly as irrigation, together with flood control, power generation and water environment improvement. The dam is constructed to regulate water amount in dry and ample years, providing irrigation water downstream, increase grain output, at the same time, assuring living, industry, agriculture and ecological water usage. During flood period, the reservoir is used to impound flood, upgrade flood control capability downstream, regulate runoff by utilizing the reservoir and develop hydro-energy resource.
Main Technic & Design Indexes: The main structures of the project include: Dam Works, Discharging Structures, Power Generation and Diversion System, Power Station, Booster Station, External Traffic Works and Management Buildings, etc., among which the dam is composed by Left Bank Earth Dam, Concrete Connecting Dam, Concrete Face Rockfill Dam, Concrete Dam Section, Right Bank Earth-rock Dam, etc., while the Concrete Dam Section includes two parts, i.e. non-overflow concrete dam and overflow concrete dam. The Power Station is after-dam type, which is located at 62.2m to the downstream of the non-overflow concrete dam, including 3 hydropower generators (6300kw?2 500kw?1) with the total Average Annual Power Output of 48,500 MW?h.
The total storage capacity of the reservoir is 193.43 million m3, average storage level is 56.80m. The total length of dam crest is around 3.3km, in which, the Left Bank Earth Dam is 2.3km, the Concrete Face Rockfill Dam is 0.2km, the Concrete Gravity Dam Section is 0.1km, the Right Bank Earth-rock Dam is 0.7km. The annual water supply from the project reservoir is 286.00 million m³.
